Who we are

Pingzoo is run by Digital Galactica Labs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub keeps server logs, including IP addresses, to run and secure the service.

On this website

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed, so we can tell what is useful and improve the site. Google runs the service for us and receives the information it collects.

  • What it collects. The pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address).
  • Cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with _ga, so it can tell one visit from the next.
  • No ads. Advertising features and Google Signals are off. Nothing on this site is used for ads.
  • Your browser. Your light or dark mode choice and your cookie choice are saved only in your own browser.

Your cookie choice

If your device is set to a European time zone (or the time zone of an EU region outside Europe), we ask first. Nothing is loaded from Google and no _ga cookie is set unless you choose Accept. If you choose Decline, nothing is loaded.

Everywhere else, Google Analytics loads when you open a page. You can turn it off at any time by choosing Decline. It takes full effect from the next page you open.

If your connection comes from the EU, the UK or Switzerland but your device isn’t set to a European time zone, Google Analytics still loads and counts the visit, but is told not to set or read cookies.

To change your choice, use Cookie settings, also at the bottom of every page. Your choice is saved in this browser on this device. If you clear your browser’s data for this site, we ask again.

In the app

When the app launches, it will use analytics to count how Pingzoo is used, so we can improve it. Analytics will never include the content of your messages.
